Anne Hathaway Engaged

Well, at least someone walked away from the holiday weekend with more to show than an expanded waistline.

E! News confirms that Anne Hathaway walked away with a big old rock and a husband-to-be, as the movies' preeminent princess has finally found a Prince Charming worth keeping.

Hathaway's rep confirmed that the actress is engaged to her boyfriend of nearly three years, Adam Shulman. So how and when did the happy proposal go down?

On those fronts, the Oscar hostess is keeping mum—though it certainly hasn't been long.

The 28-year-old subtly let the cat out of the bag last night, when she was photographed walking around Brooklyn with her 30-year-old fiancĂ©—and sporting some fresh ring finger bling.

E! News confirms that the engagement ring was a design collaboration between Shulman and Kwiat Heritage jewels, though no other information is being released regarding the low-profile couple.

The announcement comes on the heels of photos of the couple over the weekend, which showed Anne wearing an engagement ring.

Anne’s rep also revealed to Access that the ring was a “design collaboration between Adam and Kwiat Heritage jewels.”

Anne and Adam — a 30-year-old actor/jewelry designer — began dating in 2008, following the actress’ highly publicized & dramatic breakup with Raffaello Follieri, after Follieri pled guilty to 14 counts of fraud, money laundering and wire fraud.

Following the emotional split, Anne sat down with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson, where the former “Princess Diaries” star opened up about her hopes to one day walk down the aisle.

“Sometimes I find myself somewhere and I’m just like, ‘Oh, it’d be really fun to get married here,’” Anne told Shaun in December 2008. “I really don’t know what that says about me but… I try not to anticipate things before they happen — especially things that I would like very much to have happen.”

Anne, who at the time admitted she had recently met someone who was “sexy” – presumably Adam, did question whether a wedding would ever be in her future.

“Of course, like everyone, I’m kind of going through a moment where I’m like, ‘Do I even believe in marriage?’ ‘What’s going on?’ You know, as you do when you’re fresh from a break up,” she explained.

“I do think eventually someday — if I met the right person — I would get married,” Anne added at the time.

The actress will soon be seen back on the big screen as Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
